About Spanitz Consulting, Inc.  

Since 1988, Spanitz Consulting has been helping businesses around the world by providing project management, quality management, and technology-related consulting and training.

 

We have worked with companies in many different industries. Clients have come from local, state, and federal government, military, banking and investments, construction, health-care, insurance, manufacturing, real estate, retail and sales, and software development. We have also worked with non-profit and volunteer organizations.

Spanitz Consulting’s expertise is in using existing technology to implement innovative and successful management strategies that provide sustained value.

 

Eric has over twenty years of experience in training and consulting. He has designed and conducted introductory through advanced seminars, both private and public, for multi-cultural audiences worldwide. Eric is a professor at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management's MBA program, teaching project management.

 

Eric co-authored three quality management and ISO 9001:2000 seminars. Eric is on-call with clients, providing quality consulting, including assistance in development of client’s quality goals and objectives, developing realistic and usable quality system manuals, and automating the quality records management systems.

 

Eric integrates project management and quality management best practices to provide the highest quality services while staying on schedule and within budget.

 

Eric has been interviewed by national publications as an expert in the practical use of management support technology. Eric has presented papers and given keynote addresses at international conferences, such as the Project Management Institute (U.S. and Canada), the Public Service Managers Association, and the Canadian Federal Professional Development Conference.

 

In 2004 Eric conducted train-the-trainer certification for Synergest’s South Africa and New Zealand offices. In 2006 Eric conducted train-the-trainer certification for Synergest’s Nigerian offices. In 2007 Eric partnered with Denver University to offer Synergest’s project management simulation online via distance learning. In 2007 and 2008 Eric provided project management consulting and training to the Chicago Health Department.

Interesting Engagements  

Canadian Federal Professional Development Conference - Ottawa, Ontario - Packed the ballroom with an engaging talk-show style presentation of project management concepts. Both technical and personnel issues were covered in an interactive forum.

 

Public Service Managers Association - St. John's, Newfoundland - Gave two presentations on "Guaranteeing Project Success." Accidently had lunch with some government ministers. Was screeched in. Invited back for additional engagements.

 

Hong Kong - Presented a project management and a human-dimension seminar to an assorted group of Hong Kong businesspeople. Fielded many questions on the future of project management software.

 

Australia - Worked with actuaries, helping them learn and apply project management concepts in their day-to-day duties. Also showed how company initiatives can be planned and executed as projects.

 

South Africa - Conducted a train-the-trainer for our South African and New Zealand partner offices enabling them to present our project management simulation seminar.

Project Management Institute Conference - Chicago, Illinois - Paper presenter. "The Science of Making Little Problems out of Big Ones."

 

Project Management Institute Conference - Winnipeg, Manitoba - Keynote address. "Creating an Environment for Project Management Success." Discussed necessary support elements that must exist in an organization, for project management to flourish.

 

Project Management Institute Conference - Regina, Saskatchewan - Keynote address. "Guaranteeing Project Success." Also presented two seminars "Contracts and Procurement" and "Effective Estimating."

 

International Ticketing Association - Chicago, Illinois - presenter - "Fundamentals of Project Management" one day seminar at the kick-off of their one week long international convension.

 

Chicago Health Department - Chicago, Illinois - Eric conducted a series of project management seminars and then provided additional consulting at "brown bag lunch" round table discussions.
